Storytime Lessons

It is snowing a lot today in Ohio, but Trent and I braved the snow to take Lizzie to the last winter storytime at the library. She had a lot of fun. She gets so excited when she is around other little children. She makes friends where ever she goes, sometimes she even helps me make friends. We moved to a different Church in November and I haven't really had a lot of chances to meet people. On Sunday, Lizzie let another woman hold her during Relief Society and I was glad because then it was easy for me to make conversation. I am really shy, but Elizabeth seems to be very outgoing. She acts shy for a few minutes, but after she gets use to someone she just smiles and acts like they are her best friend. I am SO blessed to have a daughter that is so friendly and well-behaved. I get comments all of the time from people telling me how well she behaves.

So, my Mom experience for today: I have learned that even at the young age of ten months I need to let me daughter experience independence. She wanted to roll around with all of the other children at storytime but I did not let her go too far. She gets frustrated. Finally at the end I just let her go explore and that is when she just rolled up to other children and mothers and made friends. It is really hard for me to realize that the more mobile she becomes the more she is going to want to explore her surroundings. I want her to stay little, but I know that I need to realize that this is not going to happen. She is growing up...almost a year old. I just cannot believe it!

I love you Elizabeth!
